Auditory Processing Center specializes in assessment and treatment of auditory processing disorder (APD). APD affects the brain’s ability to recognize and interpret sound. The individual can hear what is said and will pass a hearing test, but they may not process what they hear accurately or rapidly enough to utilize it effectively in learning. APD affect 43% of children struggling in school and often causes problems with reading, and/or reading comprehension, distinguishing sounds in words, remembering what was heard, and distractibility by background noise. We offer comprehensive evaluations and specialize in providing deficit-specific therapy and consultations for children evaluated at other clinics needing treatment for APD.
