Shares in Seven & i Holdings jumped more than 9% in early Tokyo trading on Wednesday following a media report that the founding family behind the Japanese retailer was aiming to take it private within this financial year ending in March.

NHK said the founding family will raise over 8 trillion yen from “three Japanese megabanks and major American financial institutions.”

The founding Ito family behind Japanese retailer Seven & i aims to raise more than 8 trillion yen ($52 billion) to take it private by the end of this financial year, Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported on Tuesday.
