Saturday morning at Altoona High School in Pennsylvania set the stage for an afternoon showdown to determine the No. 1 team in the nation between No. 1 Faith Christian Academy and No. 2 Bishop McCort in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) AA State Dual Championships.

The nationally top-ranked Lions won their third straight team title, defeating the second-ranked team in the nation.

The PIAA team wrestling championship in AA featured the top two ranked teams in the country as No. 2 Bishop McCort squared off with No. 1 Faith Christian at Altoona high school. The Lions came out fast and won the first two matches by pinfall to take a 12-0 lead.

There won’t be a rematch of last year’s semi-finals match in the PIAA Team Wrestling Championships between Chestnut Ridge and Bishop McCort. The Lions lost to Berks Catholic 51-11 in the quarterfinals,

The Bishop McCort Catholic High School wrestling team defeated Montoursville 58-8 Friday in a PIAA Class 2A duals tournament quarterfinal at Altoona Fieldhouse.
