Kris Kristofferson, the renowned actor and country singer-songwriter, has died. He was 88. A representative for the star said he was surrounded by family when he died "peacefully" at his home in Maui on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Legendary country singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson, who penned classic songs like "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Sunday Morning Comin' Down," has died.

Kris Kristofferson, who became one of the most influential American singer-songwriters of his time with works such as "Me and Bobby McGee," as well as a successful actor, died Saturday at the age of 88,

The two actors starred alongside each other in the TV mini-series "Amerika" and the movie "Molokai: The Story of Father Damien."
