Remedy Entertainment held a Capital Markets Day 2024 to discuss the future of the company, but also said the future sequel Control 2 will be an Action RPG.

The studio confirmed that Control 2 will move to an action RPG format, with Control’s previously-announced Mac release coming in February. Remedy made the announcements during its 2024 Capital Markets Day and summarized the news in a post on X.

Remedy Entertainment has revealed new information about its upcoming projects, along with providing a sales update on its existing games. While the first Control was an action game, its sequel will be an action RPG, hinting at somewhat overhauled game systems.

Remedy revealed during an investor presentation that Control 2 will be an action RPG, departing from the action-adventure genre of the original game.

Control 2, a sequel to the 2019 action-adventure game from Remedy Entertainment, is currently in development as an action RPG, according to a slide that the Finnish video game developer released today for Capital Markets Day 2024.
