Three North Shore communities alerted parents there would be no classes for students yet again as their respective teachers’ unions and city officials could not agree on a contract.

Rallying outside the State House, North Shore teachers raised up their demands and called on legislators and the governor to help end the strike.

Schools will remain closed Tuesday in Gloucester, Beverly and Marblehead as this teacher strike continues, even though a couple of the districts say they’re getting close to a deal on these teacher contracts.

District officials and union representatives in all three communities are still divided on key issues, including paid parental leave and wages for teachers and teaching assistants.

As the teacher strikes approach the 2nd week, positive progress is being made amongst the 3 North Shore striking communities as contract negotiations continued on Saturday.
