Border 2 Fire initially started 1:58 p.m. Jan. 23 in San Diego County. After being active for five days, it has burned 6,625 acres. A fire crew of 2,212 effectively contained 74% of the fire by Tuesday morning.
UPDATE: Border 2 Fire now 74% contained
Still prohibited from returning to their homes due to the conflagration, dubbed the Border 2 Fire, were residents of areas east and south of Otay Lakes Road.
