The National Collegiate Athletic Association changed its transgender participation policy, disallowing transgender women from competing on women’s teams, one day after President Donald Trump banned transgender women from women’s athletics at colleges and schools.

The U.S. House passed a bill, largely along partisan lines, that would ban transgender athletes from competing in women's and girls sports at schools and other educational institutions that receive federal funds.

The NCAA has changed its participation policy for transgender athletes, limiting competition in women's sports to athletes assigned female at birth, following an executive order by President Trump.
