South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol is facing indictment for insurrection over his brief martial law declaration in December.

South Korea's anti-corruption agency has recommended prosecuting impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol for insurrection and power abuse following his brief martial law declaration. The CIO transferred the case to prosecutors as Yoon remains uncooperative.

South Korean investigators asked prosecutors to indict the country's detained President Yoon Suk Yeol over his short-lived imposition of martial law last month, as it accused him of rebellion, abuse of power and obstruction of parliament on Thursday.
