GREEN, Ohio – Allegiant Air is adding two new routes to popular Florida destinations from the Akron-Canton Airport, both starting in May. New flights to Jacksonville, Florida, will launch May 23 and will run Fridays and Mondays through early September.

The flight will take off Friday at 3:55 p.m. with a celebration at the gate for first-flight passengers, CVG officials said in a release Thursday.

A nonstop flight will be connecting Albany with another city in Florida. Discount carrier Allegiant announced Tuesday it will offer a direct flight between Albany International Airport and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport starting Feb. 14. The airport is located just south of Tampa Bay on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Allegiant Airlines will begin offering services out of Colorado Springs and new routes out of Denver International Airport next year according to a statement from the airline.

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport president and chief executive officer Rick Piccolo announced his retirement after 30 years at SRQ. Piccolo is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2025, and will have an advisory role after that date for six months,

The flights will run on Monday and Friday from Elmira Corning Regional Airport to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
