Two Democratic senators on Tuesday said they had asked the White House for key details about the Trump administration's financial incentive offer to about 2 million federal workers to quit their jobs.

A federal judge has for now extended a pause on the deadline set by the Trump administration for federal workers to accept a deferred resignation offer and temporarily prohibited the government from soliciting more so-called buyouts.

White House officials projected 5% to 10% of federal workers would take the buyout. As of Tuesday, the numbers were about 1%.
