Microsoft has given itself a seemingly impossible race against time. With almost exactly a year to run before Windows 10’s unpopular end-of-life hits users in October 2025, Windows 11 is still failing to hook the hundreds of millions more users it needs to prevent a generational support nightmare coming true.

Version 24H2 adds the sudo command for developers and alerts users when an application accesses their physical location.

With few exceptions, the updates all leverage AI in an effort to create a more personalized and powerful experience for users.

As reported by Neowin, Microsoft has just notified users “about the future state of the new Teams client on older Windows 10 and 11 versions. Soon, the app will start nagging users to update their operating systems to remain supported, and in a few months, Teams will stop working altogether.”

Microsoft has today announced the general availability of Windows 11 version 24H2, also known as the Windows 11 2024 Update. This is the release that Copilot+ PCs have been running since the summer, and it's now beginning to roll out to the rest of the Windows 11 userbase.

The latest Windows 11 update can bring more than the fixes it promised. Microsoft warns it can make your system reboot again and again.

Late last week Microsoft released the September 2024 KB5043145 preview update and already the Redmond-tech giant is warning that some Windows 11 PCs are being plagued with reboot loops or might freeze into blue screens.
