Although the release date for the Switch 2 hasn't been confirmed, pre-orders for a highly anticipated accessory are already available.

As it turns out, one of the defining upgrades of the Nintendo Switch 2 is actually an old concept developed for the original Nintendo Switch.

While other third-party accessory makers teased the Nintendo Switch 2 before the official announcement, Nacon is the first to go on the record with a release window. Other companies like Genki — which got in trouble for its CES stunt — have listed Switch 2 accessories are coming on their websites.

Nacon reveals several new accessories, including carrying cases and screen protectors, for Nintendo Switch 2, which will be available at launch.

Major game publisher Nacon expects the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 to launch by September 2025.

Nintendo hasn’t said when the Switch 2 release date is, beyond a vague 2025 window. However, Nacon has said it expects the console to arrive in the first half of its 2025/2026 fiscal year.

The current Switch has its Joy-Con controllers attach by sliding through a railing on the side until a locking mechanism clicks them into place. Owners then press a very (very) small black button on the back to release the mechanism to slide them back out again.

Just like Nintendo has not yet announced the release date and retail price, the video game company hasn’t revealed where it will sell the new console. However, fans vying for the highly anticipated new console can expect that the Nintendo Switch 2 will most likely be available to purchase at all major retailers,

Nintendo has dropped a first-look trailer for the Switch 2, and some gamers are wondering if its design is too similar to the original.

The original Switch came out in March of 2017 with a $299 price tag. Leaks and rumors suggest the Switch 2 could release in June of 2025. The price will likely fall somewhere between $399 and $499 USD.
