The Philippines is reeling after Super Typhoon Man-yi, the unprecedented fourth major typhoon to strike in less than two weeks — and its sixth storm overall in a month — battered the country with devastating force.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Typhoon Man-yi left at least seven people dead in a landslide, destroyed houses and displaced large numbers of villagers before blowing away from the northern Philippines, worsening the crisis wreaked by multiple back-to-back storms, officials said Monday.

Typhoon Man-yi is the latest typhoon to strike the Philippines, and the sixth storm to hit the country in less than a month. At least eight people died from the super typhoon, according to local disaster officials. The storm made landfall on Saturday, causing extensive storm surge, landslides, damage from strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall.
