BERLIN (AP) — Prominent Russian opposition figures led a march of at least 1,000 people in central Berlin Sunday, criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin and his war in Ukraine and calling for democracy in Russia.

Around 1,500 supporters of Russia's exiled opposition marched Sunday through central Berlin -- led by Yulia Navalnaya and chanting "No to war!" and "No to Putin" -- in a demonstration

The event's participants are calling for Russia's withdrawal from Ukraine, the release of political prisoners, and to try Russian President Vladimir Putin as a war criminal.

Russian government spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mocked the exiled opposition, claiming they were "out of touch" with Russia and irrelevant. Despite this, participants said the protest showed that not all Russians support Putin or his war.
