A new NBA trade rumor may open the door to the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring an underrated scoring guard before the trade deadline.

The Atlanta Hawks are the ninth seed in the East with a 22-25 record and are looking for some improvements by next week. They have a lot of powerful players who they want to hold on to, but they are willing to part ways with several stars.

In a sloppy game on night two of a road back-to-back, reserve forward Jae'Sean Tate provided a clear spark for the Rockets in Tuesday's 100-96 victory (box score) at Atlanta's State Farm Arena.

The team is 3-7 in their last 10 games and has lost six straight. As the trade deadline approaches, the Hakws could reportedly be active.  NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Hawks are willing to trade veteran Bogdan Bogdanovic.

The Hawks are “actively exploring the trade market” for veteran guard/forward Bogdan Bogdanovic and there are “credible whispers” that he could be dealt prior to the February 6 trade deadline, league sources tell Marc Stein (Substack link).
