Multiple black vultures at Landa Park have died from avian flu. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Division tells us the black vultures are infected with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Disease experts indicate HPAI is circulating among wild birds in Texas as waterbirds and waterfowl visit their wintering grounds.

The vultures found in Landa Park are the latest bird flu cases in Texas, following numerous dead ducks found in North Austin.

Bird flu is spreading among Central Texas wild birds as migration brings more and more birds here for the winter.

Bird flu has been detected in New Braunfels, according to Texas Parks & Wildlife. This marks the second detection of bird flu in Central Texas this year.
