As we approach Valentine’s Day, the Arts Desk is unconcerned with your relationship status. Whether you’re single, taken or somewhere in between, the desire to celebrate love of all sorts through music can be evergreen.

Spotify compiled a list of the Top 10 most streamed love songs of all time for The Post ahead of Valentine’s Day — and when it comes to romantic anthems, artists from across the pond seem to hit all the right notes. British crooners penned all the songs in the Top 5, with “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran taking the crown as No. 1.

If you Google "best love songs of all time," your computer will practically explode with a deluge of answers. There's lists that lean more toward alt rock, lists for Phoenix artists only and a billion or so other half-cocked listicles that attempt to encapsulate a singular truth: people really friggin' love to be in love.

As contrived as it all may be, Valentine’s Day always manages to provoke the deepest feelings in us. If you’re in a relationship, consider it a day of celebration, albeit one with an unnecessary degree of pressure on you and your partner.
