Jota spent one year with Al-Ittihad before an offseason move to Rennes, which has sold the Portuguese forward to Celtic for a reported 10 million euros ($10.5 million). Celtic got a reported 29 million ($30.5 million) selling him after his first spell in Glasgow.

Ligue 1 side Rennes signed Japanese international Kyogo Furuhashi from Celtic on Monday, with Portuguese forward Jota rejoining the Scottish champions. The Portugal under-21 international left the Glasgow outfit to join Saudi side Al Ittihad before moving to Rennes in August last year.

Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic for Rennes in a £10m transfer deal this week. The former Celtic striker made it clear that he needed to leave Glasgow to help revive his international career and it seems that Kyogo felt that a move to Rennes was the best way to do that.

Jota (25) has left Rennes to secure his comeback to Celtic FC, both clubs have announced. The Portuguese winger has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Scottish Premiership giants,

Celtic have seen Kyogo Furuhasi leave for France, but had already done some business of their own, bringing Jota back to the club.

The 25-year-old has completed his move from Rennes 18 months after leaving Celtic in a reported £25million move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Celtic have re-signed Portuguese winger Jota on a five-and-a-half-year contract subject to international clearance, the Scottish club said on Monday, while striker Kyogo Furuhashi joined Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais.
