Netanyahu appointed Foreign Minister Israel Katz to succeed Gallant. It comes as Israel is in the middle of two wars, and is bracing for an attack from Iran.

The move follows months of disagreement over the handling of the wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

Gallant is a vicious war hawk, whose disagreements with Netanyahu are over how best to assert Zionism’s interests militarily.
