Joel Armia scored a short-handed tiebreaking goal late in the third period and the Montreal Canadiens beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 to snap a five-game losing streak.

SAN JOSE -- Joel Armia scored a short-handed goal with 4:04 remaining in regulation to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Tuesday.

The fears that the Montreal Canadiens were losing their energy heading into the Four Nations break were well founded. Montreal had five straight losses heading into their contest in San Jose on Tuesday night.
