Jeep recalls 194,000 plug-in hybrid SUVs
Jeep is recalling more than 194,000 plug-in hybrid SUVs because of a serious fire risk. Some of the vehicles are at risk of catching fire, even with the ignition turned off. Therefore, Jeep is urging owners not to charge the SUVs and to park them outdoors and away from buildings until they are repaired.
194K Jeep hybrids recalled, shouldn’t be charged and need to be parked outside over fire risk
While Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis says a repair is nearly ready for the problem, it is currently unsafe to charge the plug-in SUVs until that repair is made available. Jeep is aware of 13 fires as a result of the problem and two injuries were reported as a result.
