Ghostface is slashing his way back into theaters in 2026 with "Scream 7," and some previous franchise stars are reportedly making shock returns.

Despite the fact that we all assumed his killer character Stu Macher died at the end of 1996’s “Scream,” actor Matthew Lillard has been confirmed to be returning for the forthcoming “Scream 7,” according to Deadline and seemingly confirmed by Lillard in a Thursday Instagram post.

Matthew Lillard, who played Stuart ‘Stu’ Macher in the first 1996 Scream movie, is returning to the franchise for Spyglass/Paramount’s Scream 7.
