A man was arrested for allegedly starting multiple fires in Riverside County this week, one of which burned a trailer at a mobile home resort and killed one person, according to authorities.

A new wildfire was reported today at 5:54 p.m. in Riverside County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. There is no update on the containment progress of the fire and its cause remains unknown.

Deputies in Riverside County have arrested a man who allegedly started multiple fires earlier this week, one of which killed a person. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a report of multiple fires came in late Monday afternoon around 4:45 p.

Deputies say that the crowd gathered at intersections in Perris and hurled rocks and bottles at them on Monday.

A new wildfire was reported today at 1:33 p.m. in Riverside County. Samantha Ln Tem Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it has yet to be determined.

Deputies arrived and contacted Garett Preston Young, a 48-year-old resident of Aguanga. Young had been identified as the subject possibly involved in the fatal fires that had occurred in the afternoon on Monday, February 3, 2025. Information was developed that led to the arrest of Young.

Firefighters discovered a deceased person inside of a burnt out trailer in Riverside County on Tuesday, leading to an investigation to determine if foul play was involved.
