Barbie Hsu remains a popular figure of the Asian pop culture, becoming the most-loved S han Cai. She also redefined the image of a leading lady, breaking stereotypes with her relatable persona and inspiring a new generation of actresses and drama heroines.

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, who starred in hit 2001 series Meteor Garden, has died from pneumonia at the age of 48. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed her death to local Taiwanese media through a statement and said that Barbie Hsu passed away from pneumonia after falling ill during a family trip to Japan.

Barbie Hsu's death has been mourned by many Asian artists and the latest to pay tribute is K-pop star Sandra Park who called the Meteor Garden actress one of her early inspirations in her career. Park also performed Meteor Garden OST The Love You Want in Hsu's memory.
