Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was confirmed by the Senate to be the next secretary of state Monday night, making him the first of President Trump's Cabinet picks to receive congressional approval.
The Senate approved the nomination of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) to be secretary of state 99-0 Monday, hours after President Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda.
It marks a stark contrast from the two men’s tussle for the Republican nomination back in 2016, when Rubio called Trump a “con artist” and Trump mocked Rubio as “Little Marco”.
