A report says Sony is eyeing up Japanese media firm Kadokawa, a company with a controlling stake in Elden Ring creator FromSoftware.

Sony is to hold talks to acquire Kadokawa Corporation. If a deal is reached, the PlayStation console manufacturer will become the owner of FromSoftware studios, among others.

Sony is reportedly in talks to buy Kadokawa, whose subsidiary FromSoftware is behind smash hit Elden Ring, the Dark Souls and Armored Core games, and PlayStation exclusive Bloodborne.
