The leader of Yemen's Houthis said on Thursday that the Iran-aligned group would monitor the implementation of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas aimed at ending the war in Gaza and continue its attacks on vessels or Israel if it is breached.

Their actions caused the death of four seafarers and 10 Houthi fighters, the sinking of two ships and very serious damage on another four, as well as the ongoing abduction of 25 crew members on the 5,100-ceu Galaxy Leader (built 2002).

Tens of thousands of Yemenis joined a demonstration in Sanaa to show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where smoke could be seen from Israeli strikes against Houthi rebel targets. Israel's Defense Minister said the airstrikes in Yemen were a clear message to Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

"We announce that we will suspend our military operations against [Israel]," the Nujaba Movement's leader said.
