Israel has expanded its war on Hezbollah to central Beirut for the first time since the conflict began in October 2023 in the wake of the Hamas-led attacks. An Israeli air strike levelled a residential apartment building in Cola, a neighbourhood within Beirut’s central city limits, at around 1am local time on Monday.
