Three North Shore communities alerted parents there would be no classes for students yet again as their respective teachers’ unions and city officials could not agree on a contract.

Teachers in Gloucester, Beverly and Marblehead remained locked in paralyzingly slow progress in their negotiations Tuesday, with strikes in each community now dragging on into Wednesday. Though Marblehead Public School announced the cancellation of class again just after 6 p.

Rallying outside the State House, North Shore teachers raised up their demands and called on legislators and the governor to help end the strike.

District officials and union representatives in all three communities are still divided on key issues, including paid parental leave and wages for teachers and teaching assistants.

School is canceled for Tuesday in Gloucester, Beverly, and Marblehead as striking teachers and school committees fail to reach an agreement.

As the teacher strikes approach the 2nd week, positive progress is being made amongst the 3 North Shore striking communities as contract negotiations continued on Saturday.
