Days after fires began tearing through homes in the Los Angeles area, families are returning to smoldering neighborhoods as firefighters continue their battle against the deadly wildfires.

As hundreds of Los Angeles residents return to find homes reduced to ashes due to a devastating wave of wildfires, many are fearful that their insurance policies may not cover the rebuild cost and that future premiums will be astronomical.

The fires have swept through more than 39,000 acres so far. Officials report that at least 16 people have died.

Wildfires which have killed at least 11 people and left behind widespread destruction in Los Angeles County continue to burn Friday while more strong winds and challenging weather conditions are forecasted for the coming days.
