Summit Carbon filed a new permit application to build a CO2 pipeline in South Dakota, the last state necessary to fully build its 2,500-mile project.

Ames-based Summit gets a pipeline permit in North Dakota and has one from Iowa. It still needs permits from South Dakota and Minnesota

North Dakota regulators on Friday approved Summit Carbon Solutions' application for a permit to run a section of its carbon dioxide pipeline through the state and store the captured greenhouse gas underground.
